YOU ARE A MATCH!
You know how deliberate God is, how intentional he is at everything and how he plans everything perfectly?
Right…
Let me connect that to you and your children.
When you made decision to have a child or maybe even fell pregnant, God was not surprised. He and heaven were not running around trying to discover if the child that just entered your womb should have been headed in your direction. God was not giving commands in heaven to ‘divert’ the fertilised egg in the direction of a different womb.
In other words, God was not caught unaware when the seed entered your womb. There was no emergency meeting in heaven tp discuss ‘how we missed this’.
Let me assure you that you are the right match for the child in your home. If you have a rainbow baby, you were the right match for your baby.
But it does not stop there. Being a match does not mean things will automatically fall in line on your parenting journey.
Let’s talk about different matches.
Ever heard of the phrase ‘Match made in heaven’? As much as this pertains to a couple who seem perfect for one another, it does not mean that both parties will rest on their laurels and become a match by simply staring lovingly into each other’s eyes. It means they must work at truly being a match that lasts, not a melange of one faded colour and one shining brighter than the other.
What about being a match for kidney transplant? As much as blood types match and there is a donor, a patient’s medical carers must ensure that everything is put in place for the matching process to go smoothly. The patient must be operated upon and most importantly, carefully observed and monitored for signs that negate the desired outcome.
Being the right match as a parent, means going after the development it takes for you to be the right match in action for your child. It means not leaving anything to chance. It means not accepting defeat and throwing in the towel when things get tough. It means spending time to develop the relationship with your child so that your match can be established.
It also means, being the match to help your child walk the earth as a fulfilled human being. Being a match means being the best parent to contribute to their dreams and purposes so that they can achieve and accomplish them.
So, let me congratulate you for being THE best match for your child. But let me encourage you to do ALL you can to ensure that your match is productive and fulfilling for the child you have been matched to or vice versa.
